Question 1

What is a pickleball edge guard?

Accepted Answer

An edge guard is a protective strip that wraps around the perimeter of your pickleball paddle. It shields the edge from chips, cracks, and impact damage that can happen during play — especially on hard courts.

Question 2

Will Ghost Guard fit my paddle?

Accepted Answer

Ghost Guard is designed to fit most standard pickleball paddles. If you're unsure, email us at hello@ghostedgeguard.com and we'll help you find the right fit.

Question 3

How long does the edge guard last?

Accepted Answer

With normal play, Ghost Guard edge tape is built to last through months of regular use. Replace it when you notice significant peeling or wear.

Question 4

Will it affect my paddle's performance?

Accepted Answer

No. Ghost Guard is ultra-thin and lightweight — it adds protection without adding noticeable weight or changing how your paddle feels.

Question 5

Is it legal for tournament play?

Accepted Answer

Edge guards are generally permitted in recreational and competitive play. Always check with your specific tournament or league rules to confirm.

Question 6

How do I apply the edge tape?

Accepted Answer

Clean the paddle edge, peel the backing, align and press the tape from one end to the other, and let it set for 30 minutes. Full step-by-step instructions are on our How to Apply page. If you purchase from us in person we are happy to apply the edge tape for you in less than 5 minutes.

Question 7

Can I remove and reapply the tape?

Accepted Answer

Ghost Guard is designed to protect your paddle until the tape becomes worn or damaged. When it’s time, simply remove it and apply a fresh strip. We don’t recommend reapplying used tape because the adhesive may not bond as securely.

Question 8

What if a section starts to peel?

Accepted Answer

Press the lifted section firmly back down and hold for 30 seconds. If peeling continues, it may be time to replace the tape.
